How to Attract Men: Physically, Emotionally, Without Talking & for Marriage

When it comes to attraction, it’s not exactly clear cut. Attraction isn’t all based on looks either. While two people need to be able to fancy one another, attraction should exist on a much deeper level than a person’s appearance alone. It’s important that every couple works on developing an emotional connection too, laying the foundations for a relationship built on trust, commitment and real love.

While attraction isn’t an exact science, experts have plenty of theories on what is more attractive to men which could help you out when you’re on the dating scene.

According to Business Insider, any time a man checks out a woman he’s actually performing a reproduction fitness assessment to see if they’d be able to bear his child. Dr. Steven Platek, a neuroscientist, psychologist, and head researcher at Georgia Gwinnett College, reports that men’s brains are wired to be attracted to curvy women — especially women with wide hips and skinny waists. Statistically, those women also tend to be the ones who are most fertile.

However, while you’re not exactly able to change the size of your hips, there are some things that you can do to make yourself appear more attractive to men. They also don’t require too much effort.

Firstly, keep those teeth clean! White teeth are a sign of good health, while evenly-spaced gnashers are seen as both attractive and desirable. Another study found that eating more fruit and veg is an all-natural way to make your skin look more attractive, and is Mother Nature’s way of giving your skin a healthy hue. Eating that all-important five a day is a great start to perfecting skin health.

Business Insider also claims that 40% of men actually prefer women who use fewer cosmetics, so don’t feel compelled to layer on the makeup to grab a man’s attention. Less is often more, so do what makes you feel good.

What you seek is seeking you.

How to attract a man emotionally

how to attract men emotionally

While physical attraction is the fun part, to take your relationship to the next level it’s wise to create a deeper emotional connection with your partner.

“All successful romantic relationships need both emotional and physical attraction,” according to relationship expert Emily Mendez, M.S. EdS. As many of us know, physical attraction is easy. Research has found that it usually takes between 90 seconds to four minutes to decide that you like someone. The problem with this however, is that it’s fleeting. “Physical attraction can change,” Mendez says. Emotional attraction, on the other hand, endures.

One of the best ways to achieve an emotional connection is to be present and fully attuned to your partner, giving them your undivided attention. This might mean you need to get rid of distractions, like turning off the TV or your phone, but whatever you do, listen to each other fully and completely. Give your partner complete eye contact too, as this will show that you’re genuinely interested in what they have to say.

Another way to connect is by sharing your interests and experiences with each other. Find common ground and build on that connection to learn more about each other. You might also have to show your vulnerable side to let the other person in. Don’t be afraid of this, as the long-term pay off could be huge for you and your dating life.

According to the Gottman Institute, emotional attraction means “being attracted not just to your partner’s body, but also to their hearts, minds, and dreams.”

How to attract guys without talking to them

attract men

Before you start communicating to a potential love match, you might need to catch their attention from afar first. We’ve got a few tips on how to get started with this.

“Go to places that make you happy, where men happen to be,” advises Tina Tessina, Ph.D., author of “How to Be Happy Partners: Working it out Together”. A man is going to notice a woman who is having a good time and relaxing.

Leslie Harrington, executive director of the Colour Association of the United States, advises women to wear red. This is because when you wear red, the colour can affect the way people perceive you. If you want to be perceived as sexy, red is “the color to wear,” Harrington said. This idea is also backed up in the Andrew Elliot and Daniela Niesta study into sexual attraction, who found that men were more sexually attracted to the images they were shown of women wearing red than any other colour.

Dressing in a flattering way can get a guy’s attention too. In turn, this can help improve your confidence, which is undeniably attractive to men. It’s also important to find something useful to do wherever you are, as men will see this and will notice when you’re being active.

And of course, don’t forget that all-important eye contact. Hold their gaze for a second longer than what feels natural to let them know you’re interested.

How to attract a man for marriage

how to attract a man for marriage

If you’re looking for marriage, attracting the right kind of guy is essential. But first, you need to work on your own fulfillment — you don’t need a man to make you feel happy. A husband is someone who should enhance your life and make it even brighter, and is not something you should need to make you feel whole.

“As a single woman, you should remind yourself that you have an amazing life,” says dating expert Noah Van Hochman. “Let your confidence in your own life exude into everything around you… Happiness and confidence attracts the same.”

Take the pressure off yourself. Dating is designed to be fun, but it’s also a way to find the right person. Don’t be afraid of going on more than one date either — marriage is long-term so you have to be sure you’ve found the right guy for you. When you start to remove the pressure, you’ll start to feel more in control. This is when you’re more likely to meet someone special.

I was always attracted not by some quantifiable, external beauty, but by something deep down, something absolute. Just as some people have a secret love for rainstorms, earthquakes, or blackouts, I liked that certain undefinable something directed my way by members of the opposite sex. For want of a better word, call it magnetism. Like it or not, it’s a kind of power that snares people and reels them in.
